First of all the main powerhouse that is extremely involved with Climate Change and making efforts to help this cause is the United Nations. "There have been 21 United Nations Climate change conferences to which the intergovernmental panel on clime change reports."  I will be exploring and comparing the election in Japan in 2021 and Chinas last election in 2021. Japan is a core country and China is a semi-periphery country. The Japanese election is a general election which means " Voting took place in all constituencies  in order to elect members  to the House of  Representatives, the lower  house of the Nation Diet ." This election also decided who the next prime minister would be and cabinet. There is an option to re-appoint the prime minster but in this 2021 election that did not happen.  The United States and The European Union both have had issues with immigration for decades. The United States major has always been a country that migrants want to come too. "The American dream" as some would say is what people strive to have who are foreign to the United States. The U.S. has fluctuated with the increase and decrease of immigration since 1970 when there was barely fourteen million immigrants that made up the U.S. Then 1890 hits an escalate in numbers, there was about fifteen percent of immigrants that took up the U.S. population. Now as of today immigrants take up fourteen percent of America. The issue is not that everyone wants to come and live in the U.S. it is that most of them are doing it illegally, which has been a controversy for years.  Borders change all of the time. This can happen from war, treaties over land, violence or peaceful trading.  The states borders I have chosen to research is China. This country has been the worlds largest exporter since the beginning of 2009, so there has been lots of change with their borders over the years. In the late 1800s Chinese ports were closed off to Western traders but then had no choice but to open the ports to trade. Then there was a shift in waters "a fter the mid-19th century, there was a sea change in what was systematically recorded about China’s imports and exports (Keller)."
